More Amazing Playhouse
In my last blog post I mentioned that we created some neat stairs for our grandchildren’s playhouse. We decided to make them as functional and as colorful as possible. For function, we built cubbies under the stairs for their special treasures. Blue for boys, pink for girls.
I painted the treads in the playhouse colors and, rather than leave the risers plain white, I decided to paint them for a rainbow effect. I added the stars just for fun. I intended to paint them with glow-in-the-dark paint, but haven’t gotten to that part yet.
As you can see in the first photo, we brought the stairs in and attached them to the playhouse. We knew we needed railing, but before we did that, we decided to add a deck on the upper level, with a garage underneath. More about that in my next post.
Final thought:
This playhouse is the gift that keeps on giving—in a manner of speaking, anyway. We had no idea when we started that we would do so much with this project. So it gives to us because it keeps our “creative juices” flowing, and of course it gives to our grandchildren, and other small children who come to visit. We are done for now but who knows what the future holds??
